160pp,1300 names of Ulster’s best-known cities, towns, villages, mountains, lakes and rivers, attractively illustrated and with an index of common place-name elements. The languages of  Irish, English, Scots, Old French and Old Norse are represented.

Lough Neagh Places: Their Names and Origins: Patrick McKay and Kay Muhr (2007, ISBN 978 0 85389 909 9, paperback £15)

This book deals with the varied place-names of the area in the form of a journey round Ireland’s largest lough, beginning and ending at the historic town of Antrim at the north-eastern corner. Fully illustrated.

Copies of the Dictionary of Ulster Place-Names and Lough Neagh Places are not available from the Society.
